Ballyfin is a 5 Star luxury country house hotel in the heart of Ireland at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains.

The Estate spans 614 acres and is full of history, tranquility and great natural beauty. With only 20 Bedrooms, and a private one bedroom Gardeners Cottage, the house has long been admired as the most lavish Regency mansion in Ireland. Having opened in May 2011 after 8 years of restoration, we offer the very best of Irish hospitality in the most beautiful surroundings imaginable.

Our 5 star luxury property offers the perfect place for a break from the modern world and offers discretion and privacy like few other destinations.

Ballyfin Demesne is only one of two properties in Ireland who have been awarded Three Michelin Keys. In 2024, our Executive Head Chef Richard Picard-Edwards was successful in gaining Ballyfin's first Michelin Star which we have proudly retained in 2025/2026.  


This is an ideal opportunity for an outgoing individual who thrives on offering excellent customer service and loves to communicate with others. This is a dynamic and busy role in our Front of House and has direct communciation with our guests.

 

This is a Full time permanent position, 5 over 7 days, Shift work. 3 shift patterns available spanning the hours of 8am - 8pm. Occasional night work for cover.

 

The duties include (but are not limited to:)

  • Welcome our guests on the steps of the House as they arrive
  • Meet and greet our guests
  • Responsible for guest luggage and parking of expensive vehicles
  • Responsible to assist guests to their allocated rooms
  • To have an almost constant presence in the public areas and entrance hall.
  • Answer the house telephone in a courteous and helpful manner. Taking messages on behalf of guests and management and ensuring such messages are passed on promptly and accurately.
  • Offering the best possible advice to guests on the House and Demesne and complete daily house tours
  • Assisting guests with all Demesne activities.
  • Issuing and maintaining all sports equipment and golf buggies.
  • Restocking, cleaning and maintaining all public fireplaces
  • Keeping public areas tidy and checking on guests without intruding on their privacy.
  • Helping other departments when necessary
  • Conversing with guests, providing information and directing them as required.
