Palé Hall, one of the UK's leading Five Red Star country house hotels, is a luxurious destination for quiet retreat, comfort and culinary indulgence. Situated on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park this historic Victorian mansion features eighteen luxurious, individually styled bedrooms and suites and four charming garden suites situated within the estate grounds.
Our immaculately presented Receptionists are the face of Pale Hall, handling all the arrangements for our guests, giving a warm welcome on arrival and making sure that every stay is a memorable experience. We are strengthening the team with another full time receptionist, carrying out five 8 hour shifts per week. This is a fabulous opportunity for someone who enjoys a customer facing role, has experience in hospitality and a talent for attention to detail.
Exceptional personal presentation is essential, good IT skills, preferably at least one year in a similar hospitality role, and the confidence to engage well with our guests. The ability to commute independently around the shift times is essential. Duties involve taking reservations for bedrooms, restaurants and private events, both online and by direct call/email, processing information, communicating effectively with other departments, carrying out check-in and check-out processes, responsibility for cash and card payments on the shift, and associated reception duties as required.

Provide a friendly and professional welcome to all guests, offering assistance with luggage and valet parking.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel services, facilities, rates, packages, and menus.
Offer recommendations for local attractions, dining, and activities, enhancing the guest experience.
Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints, or feedback, escalating to management where necessary.
Deliver excellent telephone, email, and in-person communication, representing the hotel positively at all times.
Handle check-in and check-out efficiently, ensuring accuracy of accounts and providing a seamless guest experience.
Manage reservations, cancellations, and amendments using hotel booking systems.
Maintain accurate records and reports, including daily logbooks and shift handovers.
Assist with administrative tasks, including correspondence, guest billing, and departmental documentation.
Actively promote hotel services, packages, and special offers to guests.
Encourage room upgrades, dining experiences, and other value-added services to maximise guest satisfaction and hotel revenue.
Work collaboratively with the Reception team, housekeeping, F&B, and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
Provide support across departments when needed, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude.
Participate in training and development activities to improve skills and service quality.
Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, fire, and emergency protocols.
Ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and hotel property at all times.
Friendly, approachable, and confident in guest interactions.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Well-organised, detail-oriented, and able to multitask under pressure.
Professional appearance and presentation.
Flexible and willing to assist other departments as required.
Previous hotel or customer service experience is desirable but not essential; a positive attitude and enthusiasm are key.
Knowledge of the local area and Welsh language skills are an advantage.
Shifts will include mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rota system.
