At our gourmet restaurant Aurum (1* Michelin star, 15.5/20 Gault & Milau), we are seeking a Chef de Partie to join our team
Under the leadership of Gary Kirchens, Aurum truly elevates the product. Together with a young team, he crafts balanced and enriching dishes in a unique environment.
Aurum is part of the five-star Kasteel van Ordingen hotel, a gem in the heart of Haspengouw (near Sint-Truiden and Hasselt). The castle estate includes 32 rooms and suites, Bistro Richard, wellness facilities, a maximalist lounge, 3 meeting rooms for business gatherings, a pear orchard, and a vineyard. Additionally, as a member of Relais & Châteaux, we aim for an optimal guest experience in a familial and authentic setting.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, prepare, and manage desserts, pastries, ice creams, cakes, petits fours, … for lunch and dinner
- Mise en place
- Manage and clean kitchen equipment
- Adherence to safety and HACCP regulations in the kitchen
- Smooth collaboration with the rest of the front and kitchen team
- Continuous innovation and pursuit of perfect service for guests
Profile:
- Culinary training with specialization in desserts or baker-patissier training and/or work experience in a similar role
- Passion and talent for various sweets
- Attention to detail
- Creative and able to work independently
