At our gourmet restaurant Aurum (1* Michelin star, 15.5/20 Gault & Milau), we are seeking a Chef de Partie to join our team
Under the leadership of Gary Kirchens, Aurum truly elevates the product. Together with a young team, he crafts balanced and enriching dishes in a unique environment.
Aurum is part of the five-star Kasteel van Ordingen hotel, a gem in the heart of Haspengouw (near Sint-Truiden and Hasselt). The castle estate includes 32 rooms and suites, Bistro Richard, wellness facilities, a maximalist lounge, 3 meeting rooms for business gatherings, a pear orchard, and a vineyard. Additionally, as a member of Relais & Châteaux, we aim for an optimal guest experience in a familial and authentic setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide each guest with a unique experience daily and ensure professional yet dynamic service (with or without supervision from a maître).
- Take orders and process them.
- Assist guests with necessary knowledge of beverages and dishes.
- Mise en place.
- Maintain order and cleanliness in the dining area.
- Serve hot and cold beverages to guests.
- Ensure smooth communication between kitchen and restaurant, including special requests and allergies.
- Maintain and replenish supplies.
Profile:
- Passion for hospitality and high-level gastronomy.
- Work experience in a similar position and/or fine dining restaurant.
- Always driven and ambitious to exceed our guests' expectations.
- Strong social and communication skills.
- Friendly and well-groomed appearance, including a broad smile.
- Solution-oriented team player who can also work perfectly independently.
- Flexible and stress-resistant attitude.
- Broad language skills in Dutch, English, and/or French.
